Veteran Homestead Inc. would like to express an enormous amount of gratitude for the contributions made by Barbara O’Neill of Haverhill, MA. Barbara O’Neill provided numerous beautiful, handmade quilts for the new center, the Northeast Veteran Training and Rehabilitation Center (NVTRC) in Gardner, MA. Her generosity is undoubtedly appreciated as these amazing quilts will go to Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans at the NVTRC to keep them warm in the newly built on-site condo units. Barbara O’Neill is the mother of late Army PFC Evan W. O’Neill. PFC O'Neill died on 29 September 2003 as a result of severe injuries sustained after an attack by enemy forces while on patrol in Shkin, Afghanistan. PFC O'Neill was assigned to 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division based out of Fort Drum, New York. Once again, our deepest thanks go out to Barbara O’Neill and family for their kindness and thoughtfulness.
