CEO and Founder
Leslie is a native of Ohio who enlisted in the Army in 1967 was a medic who served from 1967-1970.   She has thirty years experience as a combat psychologist and has received many awards for her cutting edge ideas in the operation of veterans' homes and rehabilitation centers.   Leslie combines a mix of compassion and understanding with the clinical knowledge that comes from years of experience in providing care to veterans.   Starting as a PTSD counselor, for the past thirty-two years she has been working with combat veterans treating both mind and body with respect and professionalism.   In 1987 she opened the Leominster Homestead in Leominster MA to treat veterans with various addictions and other psychological problems.   In 1994, Leslie recognized that the VA was not meeting the needs of terminally diagnosed veterans and she opened The Veteran Hospice Homestead.   The Veteran Homestead is the nations only privately owned and operated Hospice catering to the needs of veterans.   This effort was soon followed by the Hero Homestead and then the Armistice Homestead, adding the elderly and disabled to the list of veterans that Leslie has taken under her wing.   When Leslie saw a problem with transportation getting the homeless to VA medical facilities, she developed the Veteran Homestead Mobile Medical Unit that travels through southern New Hampshire giving health screenings to those homeless veterans that cannot access the VA facilities.   The Veteran Victory Farm is a facility in Fitzwilliam New Hampshire that provides a unique therapy regime for severely disturbed veterans who have not responded to traditional counseling.   Leslie is an "outside the box" thinker who sees problems and looks for solutions.   Her innovative approaches to veteran's problems have been praised by the VA and other State and local agencies.
